Rich History and Beautiful Scenery
Winding Waters Riverfront RV Resort is also located in a rather historically-rich area of the Empire State of The South. All 56 acres sit amid the trappings of Native American dwellings and Civil War-era events. Visitors can walk among magnificent earthen mounds at nearby Etowah Mounds State Historic Site. The land across the river from the resort was once a Civil War camp. And not too far away, legendary steamer The General barreled through, heading northbound, thwarting Confederate pursuit in what later became known as the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862.
